After showing Dad (11/12/08) his Dad's WW I registration card, he went down memory lane:
1) After coming home from the boxing match that his Dad took him, his eyes were very red from all the smoke, Then he would spare with his Mom and his Dad would get a huge laugh out of that.
Also, when Nate Epstein (?) would come by, Dad would spare with him and wrestle him in Dad's family's very large kitchen.
2) He would tell Moshie to not cross a line in the kitchen or Dad would beat on her. She would obey.
3) Dad's mom would pronounce Lil's name, "Leelee"
4) His brother convinced his parents to name him something other than "Israel". He said " How could you name him that?"
5) His Dad would telephone the old Jewish ladies and not said a word except make a sound.
Like: repeating the hard "Ch" sound. They would keep saying hello. His Dad would be laughing
6) He liked to visit Hymie's house and run all about. At the top of the building were lots of empty rooms and it sounded like a "gang" of cousins would run through them.
